Many aspirants apply each year for reputed exam like UGC NET with the purpose to teach as a professor in universities or to pursue research in the field of their interest.

However, in many cases, the candidates miss out the opportunity to clear the examination, not because of they lack determination or aren’t eligible for it.  

But due to their negligence about many important aspects of the exam process.  

One such key feature of the UGC NET examination is the admit card.  

Utilized for the purpose of verification, NTA NET Admit Card is an important document that the candidates are required to carry on the day of the examination.  

It is advised to treat your UGC NET Hall Ticket with utmost care as you won’t be able to enter the exam hall without it. 

Also, it can be serious concern if any discrepancy is found in your admit card since it is used to authenticate the applicant’s details.

However, before you proceed, you must note that the UGC NET 2023 Admit Card will be released in phases.

UGC NET Admit Card

The UGC NET admit cards are usually released approximately 15 days before the date of the exams.

That said, the UGC NET admit cards can be downloaded from the NTA’s official website anytime from the date of its release to the date of the exam. 

You’re required to take a printed copy of your admit card to the exam centre as on your NTA NET admit card you will have details like your name, application number, etc. 

Therefore, it is imperative that you download your UGC NET admit card and take a printout of it as the NTA NET admit card is needed to validate your presence in the UGC NET exam hall, meaning that the UGC NET Hall Ticket is your entry pass for your UGC NET exam.

UGC NET Admit card 2024

Latest Update: – While the notification for UGC NET June 2024 has been released on 20th April 2024, the admit card for the same is expected to be out 2-3 weeks before the exam, which will take place on 16h June 2024.  
 
As the UGC NET exam is conducted usually in the months of June and December, the admit card for the same is also released twice in a year and generally 10 – 15 days prior to the exam.  

UGC NET December 2023 Admit Card

Latest Update: Previously, the UGC NET December 2023 Management admit card had released on 8th December 2023  and the exam for Management will be conducted on 13th December 2023. You can download the UGC NET Admit Card here.

The admit card for UGC NET December 2023 Commerce exam has been announced on 04th December 2023 

The official notification for UGC NET December 2023 has been announced on 30th September 2023 on the website of NTA. The application process began on the same day itself and continued till 31st October 2023.

According to the notification, the exam for UGC NET December Cycle 2023 will start from 06th December 2023 and continue till 22nd December 2023.  

However, as per the revised exam dates, the UGC NET December 2023 shall now take place from 6th December 2023 to 14 December 2023.    

The exam schedule released on 16th November 2023 has notified dates for the subject of Commerce which is scheduled on 7th December 2023, while the Management paper will be held on 13th December 2023.

Now, that you are familiar with the dates of the UGC NET exam hall tickets, it’s time to go over to the process of downloading the UGC NET Admit Card.

UGC NET Admit Card – Steps to Download

I have mentioned the steps below you can follow to download your UGC NET admit card:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA UGC NET 

Step 2: Next, click on the link for UGC NET Admit card under the section of recent update.  

Step 3: After clicking on the link, enter your login details such as application number and date of birth 

Step 4: Enter the submit button and your admit card will be displayed on – screen.  

Step 5: Download your UGC NET admit card and take a printout for future reference.

What to do if you forget the Application Number or Password?

If you forget your login credentials, needed to download hall ticket, such as ‘Application No.’ or ‘Password’, you can retrieve them using the process provided below.

Steps to retrieve Application Number:

You should first check your SMS/ Email for the ‘Application Number’ which was sent to you while applying online. If you do not find it there, follow the steps given below to retrieve your UGC NET Application Number.

• Step 1: Open the Login Window and click on the ‘Forgot Application Number’ link.
• Step 2: Enter ‘Candidate’s Name’, ‘Fathers Name’, ‘Mothers Name’, ‘Date of Birth’, and ‘Security Pin’.
• Step 3: Click on the button ‘Get Application Number’. Clicking the button will show you your UGC NET Application Number on the screen.

Steps to retrieve Password:

In the case that you forget your password, the steps to follow are given below:

• Step 1: Open the Login Window and click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link.
• Step 2: Choose from the options available to reset the password such as using ‘Security Question & Answer’ or ‘Verification Code through SMS’ or ‘Reset link through Email’
• Step 3: Enter the ‘Application Number’, ‘Date of Birth’, and ‘Security Pin’.
• Step 4: Click on Submit. Next, you can reset your password and set a new one.

UGC NET Admit Card – Error Correction Procedure

If you are unable to download the admit card or find a discrepancy in the admit card that you have downloaded pertaining to the information that you had provided, then you can get the error rectified by calling on the NTA’s helpline numbers mentioned below in the table.

You can call on these numbers on any of the working days between the times of 09:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

UGC NET Admit Card Important Instructions & Documents

There are some documents that candidates must carry on the exam day. I have listed down the necessary documents which are needed to be carried to the examination hall:

• Printed copy of UGC NET Admit Card 
• Passport Size Photograph (same as the one printed on your NTA UGC NET Admit Card). You would need to paste the photo on the attendance sheet at the exam centre 
• A Photo ID Proof (options for valid ID proofs are Driving License/Voter ID/PAN Card/Passport/Aadhaar Card/Ration Card/Aadhaar Enrolment No) 
• Keep a Xerox copy of your identity proof along with you for the exam 
• PwD Certificate (If Applicable)

Apart from this, I have also mentioned all the important exam day guidelines that are inscribed on the UGC NET hall ticket which are as follows:

• Registration desks close down half an hour before the exams start. You shan’t be allowed to enter the exam hall after 8:30 AM for the first shift, and after 1 o’ clock PM in the second shift.  
• If you won’t be able to take the exam on the scheduled date and time, no re-test will be held. Hence, always be on time. 
• Have your UGC NET admit card printed hard copy with you at all times.

UGC NET Admit Card: Things not to Carry

I have categorically mentioned the things that you shouldn’t carry to your exam centre, as stated in the admit card.

• You are not allowed to carry Calculators, Documents, Slide Rules, Log Tables and Electronic Watches, any printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, Bluetooth devices, pager or any other electronic gadget/ device.
• You are not allowed to leave the Examination Room until the full duration of the paper is over.
• Eating, drinking & smoking are not allowed inside the examination room.
• If you are suffering from diabetes, you are allowed to carry sugar tablets/ fruits and transparent water bottle into the examination hall.
• You are not allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate/ candy/sandwich etc.

To prepare effectively for the exam, the candidates must check the recommended UGC NET booklist.

UGC NET 2024 Exam Centres

The NTA provides the candidates with an opportunity for choosing the desired centre for giving the examination.  

However, the applicants must be careful while selecting the venue for the exam during the registration process as the chosen exam centre is confirmed in the admit card which releases a few days prior to the day of exam.   

As there is no provision given by the NTA to change the centre after the admit cards are out, the candidates have no option but to appear at exam centre mentioned in the hall ticket to sit for the examination.    

Some of the UGC NET exam centres which report highest number of candidates are in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Meerut and Patna.
