The full form for SEBI stands for Securities and Exhange Board of India.
The headquarters of this organization is located in Mumbai and has its regional offices in northern, eastern, southern and western part of India, i.e., in cities such as New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Ahmedabad respectively.
SEBI Functions & Responsibilities
As per the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, the organization of SEBI is responsible for “protecting the interests of investors, promoting the development of, and regulating the securities market, for matters connected there with or incidental thereto.”.
Hence, SEBI is expected to cater to the needs of – investors, issuers of securities, and market intermediaries.
To ensure the effective working of the securities market, the SEBI is vested with the following functions:
- Inspect the book of accounts of financial intermediaries
- To approve by – laws of securities exchanges
- Ensure registration of brokers and sub- brokers
- Inspect the book of accounts and call for periodical returns from recognized securities exchanges
- Eliminate malpractices in security market

SEBI Grade A Exam
As SEBI is the Securities and Exchange board of India, it monitors the securities market and ensures to protect the interests of the investors by formulating regulations and guidelines.
The exam for SEBI Grade A is conducted on a national level with a purpose to enlist qualified applicants as Assistant Managers at SEBI.
The selected candidates shall be working on the guidelines of the share market and and ensure its regulations using policies.

Now, to make it to final selection of the exam process, the candidates are required to pass through the following three stages:
SEBI Grade A Selection procedure
- Phase I: The first stage consists of two papers and is objective in nature.
- Phase II: The second stage which is comprised of two papers with questions both objective and descriptive in nature.
- Interview: It is final stage which is conducted to assess the personality of the candidate.
An important point to note here is that while the Phase I is qualifying in nature, the weightage of the marks obtained in Phase II is 85%, whereas the Interview carries the weightage of 15% in the final selection.

Latest Update: The SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 2 result has been released on 10th October 2024 on the official website.
The admit card for SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 2 exam has been released on 19th August 2024.
The Phase 1 result for SEBI Grade A 2024 exam has been announced on 07th August 2024.
The SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 1 admit card has been announced on 20th July 2024.
The official notification for SEBI Grade A 2024 has been out on 10th June 2024.

The Phase 1 exam of SEBI Grade A 2024 will take place on 27th July 2024.
While the Phase 2 examination for SEBI Grade A will commence on 31st August 2024.

SEBI Grade A Recruitment
The SEBI Grade A selection procedure takes places in three stages – Phase I, Phase II and the Interview. The recruitment process for SEBI Grade A 2024 has announced vacancies for various streams which are as follows:

SEBI Grade A Exam: Eligibility Criteria
Latest Update: The SEBI Grade A notification 2024 has been released on 10th June 2024. The latest eligibility criteria for SEBI Grade A 2024 has been provided in the notification.
As per the eligibility criteria, the upper age limit mandated for the applicants is 30 years as on 31st March 2024, i.e., the candidate must not before 01st April 1994.
The minimum educational qualification for the General Stream is given as:
- Master’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma* (minimum two years’ duration) in any discipline/
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/
- Institute or Chartered Accountant/ Chartered Financial Analyst/Company Secretary/ Cost Accountant.

SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam: Salary And Perks
After becoming a SEBI Grade A officer, gross salary of an officer is approximately ₹ 1,55,000 is allotted per month without accommodation, whereas, ₹1,16,500 is granted to officers with accommodation.
The basic pay of a SEBI Grade A Officer starts at ₹ 44,500 and goes up to ₹ 89,150 over the duration of 17 years.
This doesn’t include promotions or increments, this is just the minimum appraisal one will get.

Latest Update: The online application process began on 11th June 2024 and will continue till 30th June 2024.
A successful registration in the exam application process is the first step towards the SEBI Grade A examination.
To ensure that, filling in the correct information in the application form is very crucial. Therefore, the candidates are advised to be careful while providing their details in the registration process.

Steps to Online Application for SEBI Grade A 2024
To successfully register yourself for SEBI Grade A 2024, you can take a look at the steps given below:
Step 01: Visit the SEBI website and select for the link “Careers”. Click on “RECRUITMENT OF OFFICER GRADE A (ASSISTANT MANAGER) – 2024”
Step 02: Then, select the option for “Click here for new registration”.
Step 03: Proceed to enter details such as Name, Mobile number, Email – ID, etc.
Note:-A provisional registration number and password will be sent via registered e- mail and SMS. Save it for future reference.
Step 04: Proceed to upload scanned images of your photo and signature.
Step 05: On the next page, enter basic details related to post, category, and if belong to PwBD category.
Step 06: Proceed to the next part of the basic details and enter information related to your educational qualifications.
Note:- Next, you can preview your registration form. To make changes, you can click on ‘Validate your details’. If you have filled the form correctly, click on “Save and Next”
Step 07: Then, upload scanned images of Left – Thumb impression and Hand- written declaration as per the specified guidelines.

SEBI Grade A Exam: Admit Card
Latest Update: – The exam date for SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 2 is scheduled on 31st August 2024 and the admit card will be announced on the 19th August 2024.
The SEBI Grade A 2024 exam for Phase 1 will be held on 27th July 2024, the admit card for the same has been declared on 20th July 2024.
One of the documents the candidates required to carry on the day for SEBI Grade A exam is the admit card.
Needless to say, the admit cards are provided only after you fill the application forms.
The admit card contains information related to exam dates, venue for examination, candidate’s details. It is used as a document to verify and affirm candidate’s applicability to appear for the exam.
Failing to bring your admit card, you shall be not be allowed to enter the the examination hall.
The release of the admit card is usually announced 15 – 20 days prior to the actual exam.

SEBI Grade A 2024 Exam: Exam Pattern
A thorough understanding of the exam pattern can greatly be advantageous to familiarize with the nature of the SEBI Grade A examination.
SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 1/Prelims is an on-line screening MCQ based examination consisting of two papers for 200 marks with total duration of 100 minutes, with:
- Paper 1 consists of 100 marks to be attempted within 60 minutes
- Paper 2 comprises 100 Marks to be attempted within 40 minutes
SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 2/Mains is an online examination consisting of 2 papers for 200 marks with total duration of 100 minutes) with:
- Paper 1 contains 100 marks, and the time limit is 60 minutes.
- Paper 2 is composed of 100 marks and the time limit is 40 minutes.
Paper 1 of Phase 2 is Descriptive in nature and Paper 2 of Phase 2 is MCQ-based.

SEBI Grade A Exam: Result
Latest Update: The exam result for SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 2 has been out on 10th October 2024 on the official website.
The SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 1 exam result has been released on 07th August 2024 on the official website.
SEBI Grade A result is generally announced 1-2 weeks after the exam is conducted. But for a surprise SEBI Grade A 2022 Phase I exam which was conducted on 20th February 2022, the result for the same was announced on 25th February 2022. Yes, you read it right, the result was declared in just 5 days.
In tandem, the SEBI Grade A phase II exam took place. The exam successfully conducted on 20th March, 2022. Following that, the result of the same came out on 7th April 2022.
Following this, the Interview stage i.e., the phase III was conducted and sequentially the Pdf carrying the roll. Numbers of selected candidates came out on the official website of SEBI on June 29, 2022.
With that the SEBI Grade A 2022 recruitment cycle closed.

SEBI Grade A Exam: Cut-off
The Cut-off list plays a key role and can be a game changer for candidates in their final selection as the marks scored by the aspirants must meet the cutoff in order to qualify the final round.
While the exam for SEBI Grade A 2024 is yet to be take place. Last year, the SEBI Grade A final cut off was released on 11th July 2022. Final cut off is released after the final result declaration.
