  • The basic salary of an officer stands at Rs 44, 500 per month, with increments on a yearly basis.
  • With the addition of numerous allowances and benefits, the gross monthly salary of a SEBI Grade A officer becomes approx. Rs 1,55, 000 without accommodation, and a gross salary of Rs 1,16,500 per month is allotted with accommodation.

    • Dearness Allowance (DA):The DA is an allowance that the government pays to its employees to minimize the effects of inflation. The DA generally comprises 30.38% of the basic salary; however, it can be varying in nature.
    • Special Allowance: It is an allowance given to the employees by the organization to help them meet their requirements. Special allowance makes up 16.4% of the basic pay, i.e., an approximate amount of Rs. 11, 000.
    • Grade Allowance: One of the many allowances which are provided to the employees, it forms 14% of the basic salary, i.e., a minimum amount of Rs. 10, 400.
    • City Compensatory Allowance (CCA): The CCA is another allowance granted by the companies to the employees as compensation for the higher cost of living in metropolitan cities. It makes up 5% of the basic pay, i.e., Rs 2500 given in addition to basic pay.
    • Family Allowance: It is an allowance provided to the employees for the maintenance of his/her family. An approximate amount of Rs. 2850 is granted under this allowance.
    • Learning Allowance: Another allowance given to benefit the bank employees, is granted for Rs. 2500 approximately.
    • Local Allowance: Additionally, the employees are also provided local allowance which stands at an approximate Rs. 3450.
    • Special Compensatory Allowance: It is granted to the employees for them to meet their personal expenditure caused by special circumstances, which comprises monthly an approximate amount of Rs. 500 – Rs. 625.

SEBI Grade A Job Profile

After clearing the Grade A exam, the candidates join SEBI and undergo training to become SEBI Assistant Managers. From their time of joining the organization, the candidates are to serve a probation period of 2 years.  

Upon successful completion of this period, the candidate then goes to become SEBI Grade A officer.  

While working as a SEBI assistant manager is a typical 9-5 job, however, the office timings can sometimes vary depending on the department or work assigned to an officer.
