Pay Scale of JAIIB  

To begin with, as the JAIIB exam is essentially an increment exam, there is no fixed salary structure with reference to this work profile.  

Hence, the salary and increments stated for the employees that come along after clearing the exam will vary from bank to bank.  

In reference to this, professionals working as bank clerks in metropolitan cities or urban regions may get paid more salary compared to employees working in rural or remote areas of the country.  

Giving you a brief example of pay scale and salary increment after JAIIB, if a bank clerk is getting a basic pay scale of Rs. 11, 765, then after clearing the exam, he/ she is entitled to receive an increment of Rs.  655 to the basic pay. 

This would add up to a total: 

• For Example: Rs. 11,765 + Rs. 655 = Rs 12,420

JAIIB Salary Increments 

An important aspect of the JAIIB salary component for working employees is the increment allotted along with the basic salary and for this exam, the JAIIB salary increment is one of its major highlights.  

As is the case for any job, increments added to the basic pay motivates employees to work harder in their respective fields.  

After getting selected for the JAIIB, professionals working in banking sector are eligible for increment in the salary which are of two types: 

Bank Clerk salary after JAIIB :

• For a candidate working as an employee of clerical grade will get 1 increment in his/her salary. 

Bank PO salary after JAIIB :

• An employee working as a bank officer shall receive 1 increment to his/ her basic pay.

JAIIB Allowances 

Along with the JAIIB Salary increment, the employees are also eligible for the facilities provided in the form allowances after clearing the JAIIB exam.  Following are the allowances given to the selected candidates: 

• Dearness allowance: The IIBF has come up with provision of Dearness allowance in the salary structure for JAIIB, which is calculated as an estimation of the inflation and is offered to government employees and professionals working in public sector.  
• House rent allowance: To compensate for accommodation costs, the House rent allowances (HRA) are also offered to the bank employees. However, this allowance offered can vary depending upon the accommodation cost incurred by the employees.  
• Transport allowance: This allowance is granted as a fixed sum of money for staff members of the bank, while it is claimed as reimbursement for the cost of petrol incurred by those working as bank officers. The transport allowance is fixed and is counted in dearness allowance for central government bank employees.  
• Provident Fund: The provision of Provident Fund is also a part of the salary component given for the employees to utilize.  
• City compensatory allowance: This allowance is provided as a compensation for the higher cost of living incurred by the employees living in metropolitan cities.  
• Special allowance: To meet certain requirements, special allowance is a fixed amount offered to the employees in addition to the basic salary.  
• Financial Security: The employees of the banking sector are also entitled for the provision of financial security of the job.

JAIIB Job Profile 

In addition to getting acquainted with the knowledge about banking and finance fields, the candidate is also eligible for an early promotion in their career after clearing JAIIB exam.  

These promotions mentioned are specifically present for the two kinds of posts which are the following: 

Clerk Post 

• The employees working on a clerical grade will be promoted to the level of probationary officers (PO) with additional responsibilities like dealing with cash balance, loan documentation and cross – checking clerical work.  

Officers Post 

• The candidates who are working as Probationary officers (PO) in the bank will either be promoted to Managerial level or continue to remain at the same level with higher salary and more responsibilities such as loan sanctioning, developing and promoting good products through perspective of the bank.

CAIIB Salary  

To be eligible for availing all the benefits that come with cracking CAIIB exam, the candidates must have had passed the JAIIB exam.  

Depending upon their respective job profiles in the bank, the employees are entitled to increments in their salary after qualifying the CAIIB exam.  

While the increase in the salary comes in the form of increments and a list of allowances, there are also many non- monetary benefits which are granted to the qualified individuals.  

Likewise, the case of JAIIB, the bank employees will have their job profiles updated and gain advanced knowledge in the banking field after getting selection in the CAIIB merit list.

CAIIB Salary Structure

• The increment to the salary for selected candidates will vary depending upon whether the candidate is serving as bank clerk or as an officer.  
• While the employee working on a clerical is entitled to two increments in their basic pay, the bank officers will receive only one increment in their salary.

CAIIB In-Hand Salary 

The In- hand salary of the selected candidates for CAIIB increases compared to their previous pay. Also, those who apply for bank jobs after passing the CAIIB examination are eligible for higher salary. There are two distinct types of increments provided by IIBF: 

For Clerk Grade employees  

• Employees working as clerks in the bank are eligible for two increments in their salary after clearing the exam. This would then make the salary of a bank clerk as follows: 

Rs. 11, 765 + Rs 655 x 3 (Increments) = Rs 13,730 /- (Basic) 

For Officer Grade Employees  

• The candidates serving at officers’ level in the bank will get one increment in their basic pay after qualifying the exam.  

CAIIB Salary – Annual Packages 

As there will be an increase in the monthly income, the candidates who have cleared the CAIIB exam shall receive a higher annual package.  

In reference to this, the annual income of a bank clerk after clearing the exam is approximately, Rs 1,64,760.  While, after getting selected, the employees working on officers’ level are eligible for only one increment in their basic pay. 

CAIIB Allowances 

The selected candidates for CAIIB are provided with a host of allowances along with the increments in the basic pay. The salary structure, after passing the exam, consists of the following allowances: 

• House Rent Allowance (HRA)

Bank Clerks

• Responsible for looking after important bank documents regarding the cash and keys.  
• Guide the customers about the functioning of the bank and different policies of the respective banks.  
• Issue bank receipts, demand drafts as well as new accounts for the customers.  

Bank Officers  

• Supervise all the opening and closing of bank accounts.  
• Maintain a good rapport and affinity with the customers.  
• To inspect the eligibility of a customer for loan application.   
• To stay updated with knowledge about recent bank policies.
