The fool proof booklist you need, if you want to crack RBI Gr. B 2023
– Anuj Jindal
You are all set to dig deep and find the books that are just right for you. But you have no clue how to go about this. The deeper you dig, the more confusing it gets. Sounds familiar?

If you dream of cracking RBI Grade B, these are the books you can’t go wrong with. I’ve come up with this list to make sure that your preparation is top-notch, and that you are not wasting your time on books that are not useful to you. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
So, let’s get started.

PHASE 1
1. Quant
2. Reasoning
3. English
The preparation style and the materials are almost the same in these three subjects. The strategy to cover these are..
To understand the Concepts, watch videos and to practice those concepts, use books.
Concepts- Videos
Practice- Books
* DO NOT go through this the other way around. Many of you make the mistake of using videos for practice and books for concepts. Don’t be one of those aspirants. *
The books that you need for practice are
- CAT Books (R S Aggarwal, Arun Sharma, S Verma)
- Banking Services Chronicle (B.S.C Books) – Monthly CAT magazine
- Kiran publication
- Anujjindal.in (RBI, SEBI & NABARD Phase 1 Question Book with Previous Year Papers)
4. General Knowledge / Awareness
- Spotlight– free monthly magazine available on anujjindal.in website.
- Affairs Cloud- Also available online for free.
- Lucent Book on GK will cover all your static GK.
Need even more detailed info on phase 1 resources? Check out this video after you are done here, and don’t forget to take notes!

PHASE 2
1. Economic and Social Issue (ESI)
- Indian Economy – Nitin Singhania
This book gives a good basic and decent idea of ESI. I found this book better than Ramesh Singh, but keep in mind that some chapters might be missing which you’ll need to pick up from Ramesh Singh, and those are available online.
Missing Topics-
– Migration and Urbanization
– Gender issues
– Education
– Positive Discrimination
– Schools of economic thought
Unexplained Topics-
– Nature of Indian Economy
– Human Development
– Public Dept
– Public Health
- Sriram’s material (IAS) – Economy – This is a good supplement to the Nitin Singhania
- Datt and Sundaram – For all the PhD enthusiasts out there, who love to dive deep into any topic. The absolute best resource you can find to get to the core of Indian economy and social issues.
(Any one book should be enough for your prep. You do not have to read all the books from cover to cover)
2. Finance
To cover the basics and statics of finance, you’ll need two resources. The first one, you’ll find on the RBI website.
RBI Website.
- Functions and Workings of RBI – You are taught this book after selection in RBI. This will cover most of your finance syllabus.
- RBI FAQs – I have made a book which summarizes these FAQs in my course. The book has all the important FAQs
The second one is the Book
- Indian Financial System by Bharati V Pathak
Finance Current Affairs
- RBI Daily 24*7 – To cover the Current Affairs which is 20% of the finance section, RBI 24*7 on our YouTube channel is the best resource you can find.
These are what you need to cover for finance, especially if you are a self-preparing student.
3. Management
- Organization Theory (OT)/Principles of Management (POM) – T.N Chhabra, C.B Gupta
- Organization Behavior (OB) – T.N Chhabra, C.B Gupta
I would recommend any one of these authors to cover the management subject.
4. Ethics
- Company Secretary Foundation – Business Ethics and Entrepreneurship. This book is available online for free. Ignore the separate section of entrepreneurship which is not in the syllabus.
- Company Secretary Final – Ethics Governance and Sustenance. A very well written book you need to study.
5. English Descriptive
Now, this is a very tricky subject for the students. Like the other subjects, you can’t just take the exam after memorizing the books. It’s a language, it doesn’t work like that!
“But don’t worry, I’m here to save the day. I teach one class every week in MY COURSE this subject, which will resolve this problem of yours.”
What you need to do is practice writing English papers in the context of your subjects. You can find those topics online that match your syllabus. The only way you can ace your English exam is practicing the relevant English topics from past year papers.
Write essays of the subjects
- UPSC sample essays and past papers,
- RBI, SEBI, NABARD past year papers
- Topics on Philosophy.
6. Current Affairs
You can cover most of these from our YouTube channel.
- PIB Daily current affairs
- RBI Daily 24*7
- Government Schemes
- Annual Surveys
- Daily Current Affairs
- Indices and Reports
Now, you have the list of the precise books you’ll need to clear the RBI exam. But here’s a question for you.
Is that all you need to crack your exam?
You might answer YES.
Well, I’m gonna let you in on a big secret. They aren’t.
Skeptical? Understandable.
Folks, let’s not forget that books are just one part of your total preparation. A decisive one? Definitely. But still only one. You should have the books at your fingertips. HOW you cover those books is crucial to your strategy, along with so many other factors.
To crack your RBI exam with a BANG, you need to have your game plan ON POINT.
Well, with this blog I have made that job easier for you to do JUST that. Get these books, make a plan, and start executing that. The fact that you have come this far makes it evident that you have it in you to make it to the end.
There are two things you have got to do to ace your exam.
DO IT And DO IT RIGHT
And if you do everything right, you WILL nail this exam.
