NABARD Full Form

The full form for NABARD stands for National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.  

As the name indicates, NABARD is a development bank established to promote the growth of agriculture, small-scale industries, and economic activities in rural areas by providing and regulating credit for these purposes. 

Briefly speaking about its history, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), at the request of the Government of India (GOI), set up a committee to review the arrangements for institutional credit for agriculture and rural development (CRAFICARD). 

Function of NABARD

NABARD takes responsibilities of the rural development, fostering social innovations and enterprises.

As of May 2023, it operates through 31 regional offices and collaborates with over 4,000 partner organizations to support initiatives like the SHG-Bank Linkage programme, soil and water conservation, and crop productivity.

It consistently ranks among the top 50 taxpayers, reinvesting profits for further development. 

NABARD’s main functions are: 

    1. Refinancing: It acts as an apex financing agency, refinancing credit for rural development activities and liaising with national institutions like RBI and government bodies. 
    1. Banking Supervision: NABARD supervises cooperative and rural banks, ensuring credit delivery efficiency and institutional strengthening. 
    1. Development: It leads programs like the SHG-Bank Linkage and natural resource management, supporting microfinance and sustainable rural development projects. 

    NABARD Grade A & B 2025 Exams

    NABARD Grade A & Grade B exams are conducted for recruitment to the post of Assistant Manager (Grade A Officer) & Manager (Grade B Officer) respectively.

    As mentioned earlier, Grade A post holds a very prestigious rank in the country, and the responsibilities that rest on the shoulders of a Grade A officer are pretty huge.

    Since the Grade B post is a step senior to that of a Grade A post, the responsibilities are also greater.

    While the NABARD Grade B exam is pretty similar to the Grade A exam, the only difference is that there’s an extra paper (analytical Paper on Development Economics, Statistics, Finance, and Management) that aspirants have to take in the second phase of the Grade B exam.

    NABARD Grade A & Grade B 2025: Job Profile

    Once you are selected as an Assistant Manager (Grade A), you can be assigned to any department in the bank irrespective of your qualification.

    NABARD has a bureaucratic work culture. So, you’ll have to report to the Chief General Manager (CGM).

    Similarly, when you join NABARD as a Grade B Officer you are appointed to the post of Manager. You’re entrusted with different responsibilities like granting loans to facilitating inter-departmental works.

    NABARD Grade A & Grade B 2025: Salary

      • The basic pay: In 2025, as per the official information by NABARD, the initial pay stands at Rs. 44,500.
      • Gross monthly salary: Along with the allowances such as DA, HRA, the gross monthly salary of NABARD Grade A is approximately Rs. 1,00,000.

    Phase 1 Exam Pattern of NABARD Grade A Exams

    NABARD Grade A 2025: Eligibility Criteria

    The official notification for NABARD Grade A 2025 is yet to be released. However, based on previous years, no major changes are expected in the eligibility criteria for this year’s exam. 

    The NABARD Grade A eligibility criteria cover several key aspects, including: 

      • Educational Qualifications 
      • Age Limit and it’s relaxation 
      • Nationality

    One important point to note is that only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the NABARD Grade A exam. 

    While there is a defined age limit for applicants, there is no restriction on the number of attempts, giving aspirants multiple opportunities to qualify. 

    Let’s now take a closer look at each of these eligibility factors in detail. 

    1) Age Eligibility (as of 01 September 2025)

      • You must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of 01 September 2023, i.e., you must have been born not earlier than 02-09-1995 and not later than 01-09-2004.

    2) Educational Qualification

    To be eligible for the Grade A post in the general stream of RDBS, the educational qualifications required by the candidate are either of the following:

      • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 60% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants – 55%) in aggregate.
      • Post Graduate degree, MBA/PGDM with a minimum of 55% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants – 50%) in aggregate
      • A degree of professional qualification in CA/CS/ICWA.
      • A degree of professional qualification in CA/CS/ICWA.

    NABARD Grade B 2023: Eligibility Criteria

    The NABARD Grade B 2023 notification is expected to come out soon. Hence, as for eligibility of the exam, I shall be mentioning the eligibility criteria mentioned in the 2021 official notification. 

    1) Age Eligibility (as of 1 July 2021) 

    The candidate must be between the ages of 25 and 32 years as of 01.07.2021, i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 02-07-1989 and not later than 01-07-1996). 

    2) Educational Qualification 

    To apply for the NABARD Grade B Manager post (RDBS), you’d need to be a Post Graduate degree holder in any subject with an aggregate of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWBD), from a recognized university OR you should have a minimum 60% or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation and PG, MBA/PGDM at all levels OR a minimum 60% or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation, PG, and a professional degree, viz., CA/CS/ICWA OR a minimum 60% or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation, PG and Ph.D.

    Now after you’re done with proving your eligibility for the exam and then filling a dreadful form, let’s move to the selection procedure, which you need to clear to get the job. 

    NABARD Grade A 2025: Notifications

    NABARD usually releases a Grade A newspaper advertisement prior to the official notification, providing important details such as the expected release date’s official notification and number of vacancies, which generally ranges from 100-150 based on past trends.  
     
    As of now, the official notification for NABARD Grade A 2025 has not been released yet. 
     
    Once the official notification is out, it will contain all the essential information such as exam date, number of vacancies, application process, eligibility criteria and syllabus etc. 

    The exam dates both Phase 1 and 2 will be released in the official notification.

    NABARD Grade A 2024: Notifications

    Latest Update: The NABARD Grade A Result for Phase 2 is out on 29th November 2024.

    The NABARD Grade A 2024 admit card for Phase 2 exam has been declared on 09th October 2024. 

    The NABARD Grade A Phase 2 exam will be Conduct on 20th October 2024.

    The Phase 1 result for NABARD Grade A 2024 exam has been announced on 27th September 2024.

    The Phase 1 admit card for NABARD Grade A 2024 exam has been declared on 26th August 2024.

    The official notification for NABARD Grade A 2024 exam has been out on 27th July 2024. A total 102 of vacancies have been released for NABARD recruitment 2024 for Grade A post.

    The application process for the NABARD Grade A 2024 has begun on the same day itself, on 27th July 2024 and shall end on 15th August 2024.

    As per the notification, the Phase 1 exam will commence on 01st Septmeber 2024.

    The newspaper advertisement for NABARD Grade A 2024 has been out on 25th July 2024. 

    As for NABARD Grade B Notification, at the moment, there is no concrete information about the respective recruitment.

    The application process for NABARD Grade A have not been open because the notification is yet to be released. 

    The application process will begin on the same day when the notification releases and stay open for approximately 15-20 days. 

    Submitting the application form is the first and most important step for all candidates who wish to take the exam. Without completing this step, you will not be eligible to appear for the NABARD Grade A exam.

    NABARD Grade A & B 2025: Exam Pattern

    The details regarding the latest exam pattern for NABARD Grade A 2025 are given in the section.  

    Let’s take a look at the exam pattern of NABARD Grade A Preliminary & Mains Examination given below: 

    • Phase I – Preliminary Examination
    • The Prelims Examination of Grade A will be conducted online. 
    Phase 1 Exam Pattern of NABARD Grade A Exams

    Objective Type: MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) carrying 200 marks.

    Duration: 120 Minutes Composite Time

    Total Marks: 200

    I) Test of Reasoning – 20 questions – 20 marks

    II) English Language – 30 questions – 30 marks

    III) Computer Knowledge – 20 questions – 20 marks

    IV) Quantitative Aptitude – 20 questions – 20 marks

    V) Decision Making– 10 questions – 10 marks

    VI) General awareness – 20 questions – 20 marks

    VII) Economic & Social Issues (with focus on Rural India) – 40 questions – 40 marks

    Phase II – Mains Examination

    The Mains Examination of NABARD Grade A will be online and will have two papers.

    Phase 2 Exam Pattern of NABARD Grade A Exams

    Paper-I 

    General English: (Descriptive – online through the keyboard)

    The paper will have descriptive questions carrying 100 marks.

    Duration: 1 ½ hour

    Paper I is common to all disciplines.

    Paper-II (Objective as well as Descriptive): 

    Economic & Social Issues – For General Discipline

    Agriculture & Rural Development

    Duration: 2 hrs. – 100 Marks

    Phase III – Interview (50 Marks)

    Now if we talk about the NABARD Grade B Exam Pattern, it is exactly the same as that of the NABARD Grade A exam; everything, from Phase 1, and Phase 2 subjects, the time durations, the maximum marks for the various papers, all are exactly the same.

    The only difference being an additional paper in Phase 2.

    The additional paper is called Paper III. This paper is also an objective as well as descriptive type online paper of 100 marks, with a time limit of 2 hrs.

    This Paper III is based on the subjects of Development Economics, Statistics, Finance & Management.

    NABARD Grade A & B 2025 Syllabus

    NABARD Grade A & B 2024: Admit Card

    Latest Update: The NABARD Grade A 2024 Phase 02 admit card has been announced on 09th October 2024 

    As per the notification, the NABARD Grade A 2024 Phase 1 exam will be held on 01st September 2024, the admit card for the same has been announced on 26th August 2024.

    The NABARD Grade A 2023 admit card has been declared on 09th October 2023 for the Prelims exam which was conducted on 16th October 2023.  

    The notification for NABARD Grade A 2023 had been announced on 02nd September 2023.

    NABARD releases cut off marks after the announcement of the result declaration. In other words, the NABARD grade A cut off usually releases soon after the declaration of the final result.

      What is the difference between NABARD Grade A and Grade B? 

      The main difference between the NABARD Grade A and Grade B posts is that the Grade B is post higher than Grade A post and the Grade B exam is tougher compared to Grade A exam.

      How can I get a job at NABARD? 

      To get recruited in an organization like NABARD, you can appear for the NABARD Grade A or the NABARD Grade B exams that are held for the various streams. The notifications for the same are announced every year.

      Who are eligible to give NABARD Grade A 2025 Exam? 

      To be eligible for NABARD Grade A 2025 exam, the candidate must fulfill the following criteria: 

      • The candidate must fall under the age bracket of 21 to 30 years to take the exam. 
      • The candidate must possess graduation degree with a minimum score of 60% in graduation.
