    • Costing: Costing is not separately prescribed in RBI Grade B, making it an exclusive subject in PFRDA Grade A.

    • Reasoning Ability: RBI Grade B Reasoning Ability overlaps with logical reasoning, analytical ability and general mental ability covered under UPSC CSAT. 
    • Quantitative Aptitude: RBI Grade B Quantitative Aptitude has some overlap with basic numeracy and data interpretation in UPSC CSAT. However, the question patterns and difficulty may differ. 
    • English Language: English comprehension is included in both examinations. However, RBI tests English as a separate Phase 1 section, while UPSC includes comprehension under CSAT.

Subjects Exclusive to RBI Grade B –  

    • Finance: UPSC does not include Finance as a separate compulsory subject. Therefore, banking, financial markets and financial institutions require separate preparation for RBI Grade B.
    • Management: Management is not part of the compulsory UPSC General Studies syllabus. It requires separate preparation unless an aspirant selects Management as an optional subject.

Subjects Exclusive to UPSC –  

    • History and Culture: UPSC covers Indian history, world history, culture and the freedom struggle, which remains exclusive to this examination.  
    • Geography: Indian and world geography are included in UPSC but do not form a separate subject in RBI Grade B. 
    • Polity and Governance: Constitution, Parliament, governance, public policy and international relations require separate preparation for UPSC. 
    • Environment and General Science: Environment, biodiversity, climate change, science and technology are much broader in UPSC. 
    • Ethics: UPSC Mains includes a separate paper on Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude, which has no direct equivalent in RBI Grade B. 
    • Optional Subject: UPSC candidates must select an optional subject for two Mains papers. The preparation required will depend on the subject selected.
